Vita

Sofian Merabet earned his PhD in Anthropology from Columbia University, New York. Currently, he teaches in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Texas, Austin, where he is affiliated with the Centers for Middle Eastern Studies, European Studies, and Women’s and Gender Studies, as well as with the Institute of Latin American Studies. Previously, he held teaching appointments at New York University, the University of Louisville and the American University of Beirut.
