He studied medicine and philosophy in Marburg, Rom and Heidelberg. Professor for Psychotherapeutic Medicine at the University of Heidelberg. Employed as a medical physician at the University of Heidelberg from 1978 until 1986: Specialist for Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy. Subsequently, he was the leading physician of the Psychotherapeutic Consultation Centre for Students at the University of Heidelberg, education analyst in the International Psychoanalytic Association. Fellowship at the Universidad de Chile and at the Beihang University Beijing.
