Eckart Schütrumpf has published widely in American and German journals on political, ethical, rhetorical and poetic issues in Aristotle, Plato, Cicero, and other ancient writers. Prof. Schütrumpf was chair of the Classics department from 1987-1994 at the University of Colorado Boulder. He is the author of a translation and commentary in four volumes on Aristotle’s »Politics.« Prof. Schütrumpf has published monographs on Aristotle's Poetics and Politics, on Xenophon's On Revenues, and on »Eric Voegelin’s Deutung der aristotelischen Politik.« He has co-edited volumes on the Peripatetics Demetrius of Phalerum and Dicaearchus, and together with P. Crone and D. Gutras on »The Greek Strand in Islamic Political Thought.« Prof. Schütrumpf is editor of a project of a new critical edition of the fragments of Aristotle's lost writings to which he will contribute an edition of the political and historical fragments.
