ENCOUNTER. THEORIE UND PRAXIS IM DIALOG

We kindly invite you to the theme evening, which introduces the diverse world and cultural history of tattooing and offers a lot of room for discussion in addition to short lectures. 
The current popularity of tattoos is currently perceived as a trend or fashion and is also discussed in public. The experts from science and practice present at the theme evening sharpen this picture as to whether tattoos really are a new phenomenon and why they still occupy and partly divide public opinion. To this end, it is also addressed and discussed what types of tattooing exist worldwide and what different cultural meanings the motifs and tattoo methods have around the globe. 
The event is organized by the VHS Köln in cooperation with the Morphomata Center for Advanced Studies of the University of Cologne and the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum.
