Vita

Sinah Kloß studied Human Geography, Indology and Social Anthropology at Georg-August-University Göttingen (2005-2010). She was a research associate at the Heidelberg Center for Transcultural Studies (HCTS) in the junior research group "From the Caribbean to North America and back" (2010-2013) and visiting researcher at the University of Guyana (2011-2012). She holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from Heidelberg University (2014). In her dissertation she analyzed Hindu communities in Guyana and their transnational migration to North America. Between 2015 and 2016 she was postdoc and senior researcher at the Global South Studies Center (GSSC), University of Cologne.

Since 2015 she is junior research fellow at the Center for Religion, Economy and Politics (ZRWP) of Basel University as part of the research group “Religion and Development in the Global South”. In 2016 she joined the Morphomata Center for Advanced Studies as a research associate.
